A Subaru Impreza WRX STI Convertible You Ask? No Problem
We’ve Got Some Mixed Feelings About This Subaru Convertible
Updated October 3, 2018
A Subaru dealership in Manchester, New Hampshire, offered for sale a car that no one asked for – A Subaru Impreza WRX STI convertible. Subaru never offered the Impreza in convertible guise, although a wagon, sedan and coupe has been offered over the years.
The Car had been professionally converted by Newport Specialty Cars in Placentia, California, in January 2011, the year the car was registered. It was offered for sale for $26,967 with only 9,042 miles.
Although a convertible Subaru Impreza might be a good idea, this converted four door sedan has added strengthening bars to reduce body flex. As well engineered as this may be, these bars add weight to any car so it will end up weighing more. The recipe doesn’t sound so sweet anymore.
The car is no longer for sale so someone must’ve bought the car. A cool museum piece maybe but we don’t think it would drive very well. However, if the owner is reading this, we’d be more than happy to take it for a brap around town. Hint hint…
