Tata Harrier

Tata Motors to launch Range Rover Evoque look-alike for the global market in 2019

Updated December 4, 2018

Indian auto giant Tata Motors, the owners of Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is looking to launch a new global-market SUV under the Tata brand name in 2019.

The automaker would call the new SUV the Harrier and would be same as the Range Rover Evoque.

The Harrier would not only boost its sales in India but also in the middle east and the African regions. Tata revealed the H5X at Geneva Motor Show, a vehicle the Harrier is based on. Tata tested its viewers with images and videos of the production version of the vehicle.

The Harrier appears to have taken the same proportions and style of the H5X concept. The exterior has been toned down for the production model.

The company has so far not released any images of the interiors but it is promising the Harrier would not compromise in terms of quality, connectivity, and space.

The harrier would have a lot in common with the Land Rover models when it comes to what’s under the hood. This would push the automaker to a more upmarket position from its origins as a budget car manufacturer.

The SUV is believed to come with a 5 seater version as well as a 7 seater option, four-wheel drive and a 4 cylinder 2.0-liter diesel engine with two differently tuned versions provided by Fiat Chrysler.

About Safet Satara

I do not have spare time. All there is is car time. 12 years and counting. I am a Central European gearhead, but you are probably thinking - aaa a disposable Borg drone! Well, actually, I like to dress up like James Bond too. The only thing I need to be him is an Aston Martin (and I love DBS more than DB5 because, reasons). That's something I guess.
