Ford is now placing a Turbo on everything including the Ford Fiesta
Ford is hard at work under its awesome overlord Alan Mulally to boost efficiency and sales by giving customers the numbers they want to see. The Ford Motor Company is slapping a Turbo on everything from the Fiesta, Transit and even the 2015 Ford Mustang. Since the company is putting its vehicles through several different stages in order to gain fuel efficiency, Ford has remarked that it plans to reduce overall weight of each vehicle in its lineup by 750 pounds by using more carbon fiber and less steel. So it looks as though you can purchase a Carbon Fiber Ford fiesta with a turbo on it, the sound like every street racers dream as long as you put stupid wheels on and an even stupider spoiler right? Well no, because these vehicles are focused on one thing and that’s efficiency.
2014 Ford Fiesta 1.0L Ecoboost Specs
Power is being produced by a 1.0 L turbo engine that will produce around 120 hp and 125 lb-ft of torque. Ford says that the 2014 Fiesta will offer an overboost button that spools up the turbo and blasts green flames out the tailpipe causing a raise in Torque to 150 lb-ft. Ford also remarked that when racing an Asian in an S2000, be sure and hit the overboost at the right time and not waste it right of the start. (Too soon Jr.) You will also want to shift sixteen times while looking out your passenger window at the S2000.
2014 Ford Fiesta 1.0L Ecoboost MPG’s
Once you have finished racing you can enjoy what the EPA says will get around 42MPG’s on the highway. Of course the Civic HF can do 41 MPG so I hope Ford can up those numbers before the 2014 Ford Fiesta 1.0L is ready for sale. Price should start around 14,000k according to my Facebook friend Alan (Mu-f-ing-lally).
