The 2013 Camaro ZL1 HPE700. The Boss Better Beware.
Updated October 10, 2012
John Hennessey of Hennessey Performance has done it again with another head turning, jaw dropping, tire shredding monstrous project/production car. Like ALL of the other vehicles Hennessey Performance has gotten their hands on, this one is no different. Introducing the 2013 Camaro ZL1 HPE700, another inductee to the family of awesome.
The 2013 Camaro ZL1 HPE700 is yet another car that John had to make a reality. Over the past few years Hennessey Performance has boosted, many engines, and they seem to love the way GM makes their V8’s. This car being the 3rd go around for a GM LS series motor just solidifies how much power a Chevy crate motor can really produce. As in the other GM projects the 2013 Camaro ZL1 HPE700’s name clearly represents the amount of actual power that is being made from the engine under the hood. A myriad of power producing parts, along with a ton of elbow grease got this motor where it is now.
This HPE700 package is only one of a few options that John has created for the Camaro. Essentially this is the equivalent to a base model, and primarily all the work that has been done is primarily internal. By modifying the cams, cam shafts, push rods, pulleys, and inter-coolers, the Hennessey team was able to pump a solid 678hp to the rear wheels. Which everyone in tuning knows that, those numbers equal up to at least 720hp. John has also created a HPE650, HPE800, & HPE1000 package for the 2013 Camaro.
This time around John Hennessey himself decided to film the footage of this beast of a car, and take the world on a quick, and informative tour of how the 2013 Camaro ZL1 HPE700 came to be. Be sure to watch both video clips, one will have the dyno run of the ZL1 HPE700, as it lays down over 678hp, and 601lb feet of torque.
