The 2013 Ford Police Interceptor Line

Updated July 10, 2012

Have you ever wondered about those car chase scenes you watch on T.V.?                 You know the one’s where there’s a bad guy in a decent car, and he’s being chased by some cop in a standard Police car, and normally gets away?  Yeah, well gone are the days of lame ass car chases, and old boxy Chevy Caprices crashing into a stack of cardboard boxes that just so happened to be sitting in the perfect spot. Not to sound cocky or anything, but Ford has picked up the bat, and is swinging for the fences with their new line up of cars, and SUV’s. Ford calls it the 2013 Police Interceptor Line. Now as “Official” as it sounds, Ford has only two vehicles in the line-up so far. The first is the 2013 Police Interceptor Sedan aka the 2013 Taurus, and the 2013 Police Interceptor Utility, aka the 2013 Explorer.  Both are award winning vehicles, that have over 40 years of road experience between them, and have been treasured, as well as cursed by millions of drivers all over the US. For 2013 Ford has made sure that their Sedan (Taurus), and Utility (Explorer) vehicles do nothing but kick ass, and take names.  Some of the refinements for the Interceptor Line were developed by using first hand information from the men and women of the Police force who have been tirelessly giving their time, and energy to protect all of us out there wherever we live. Now, some of the new improved goodies are new Heavy Duty Suspension & Braking systems. This had to be made due to how many times car chases have gone awry, because of poor handling, and or braking inabilities. In keeping with the power of these vehicles, the police yet again put in their two cents to the developers at the Ford design studio.  The drive train was tuned specifically for those times when a pursuit ensues, and keeping up was a problem. To top it all off, all Police Interceptors come with AWD, standard for that added extra bit of security when you’re on the road. Moving ahead, the structural frames were made from reinforced aluminum, and were designed to redirect any impact away from the occupants of the vehicle. Ford’s Canopy System, is constantly monitored by the innovative Personal Safety System. What this means is, the processors within the CPU maintain a strict level of safety, and comfort all day, every day. The 2013 Ford Police Interceptor Line has been created from the best that Ford has to offer, and is putting forth a challenge to all other manufacturers who have, or will produce Interceptor style vehicles for the law enforcement. The Chevy Impala, the Dodge Charger, and even Ford’s own well recognized Crown Victoria, can not stand up eye to eye with all of the feature that the new 2013 Police Interceptor Line offers.  Between all of the safety accommodations, new more fuel efficient power plants, AWD capabilities, and an all around hardcore look & feel, the 2013 Ford Police Interceptor Line will be the new street machines for the Boys & Girls in Blue.

The Car scene is so diverse Where I come from, most enthusiasts recognize the amazing engineering (particularly the engines). The bulk of the ridicule originates from the manner in which many of the vehicles are modded/maintained. Thus, the jokes and or hate tends to be aimed more at the owner rather than the machine. All of which makes seeing properly sorted old Toyota's and Hondas at car meets, auto shows, and track days all the more refreshing.

At Autowise, we envision ourselves as not just a automobile blog or an automobile news website, instead we see our website as a platform to connect all automobile enthusiast and provide them with all the information they need.
