The 2013 Renault Clio. New Looks For 2013.
Published October 2, 2012
During this year’s Paris Auto Show, French Automaker Renault debuted a totally revised, and savvy looking Clio for their 2013 lineup. Renault is hoping that with the Clio’s new look, that more people will want to see what else they have coming in the future.
The 2013 Renault Clio is a car that would normally fall into the European/International bracket called Supermini, but with it’s new looks, it seems to have found it’s way into the B-segment of cars. Cars in this bracket would be the Nissan Versa, the Volkswagen Golf, and others like it. To begin, the front fascia has been slightly elongated, and sculpted to bring forth, more of an aerodynamic feel to the car. The Renault Diamond remains as a center piece of the front of the car, and at the same time acts as the nose of the car. Two fairly large headlights complete the front end of the Clio. Being that this is a two door car, body lines are short, and to the point. Black mirrors, and an odd shaped design piece, that resides at the bottom of the doors, break apart any color scheme other than the color black itself. The rear of the 2013 Renault Clio has a very sporty looking feel to it, whereas the rear window is small and tight to the upper rear of the car, as it allows the bulging rear wheel arches to support the taillights.
Power for the 2013 Renault Clio is still under wraps for the most part, but for what we do know, the Clio will have a few power train options. We can surmise that there will be Petrol, and Diesel engine options, that span from 1.2L all the up to a possible 2.0L. There are speculations that a 1.5L dCi engine will run, and provide power to the Clio just like a hybrid-electric vehicle would. Also there will be the strong possibly of stop & start engine technology, as well as the strong possibility of a dual clutch transmission being an option for the Clio.
The interior of the 2013 Clio will be as standard as they come, but with Renault’s new standard of info-tainment there’s an air of refreshment for the lineup. The new R-link system will incorporate Tom-Tom like features, as well as a new Coyote Series alert for when there are major road hazards in the way of where you are traveling. The 2013 Renault Clio was on display this year as a three door hot hatch, but Renault has plans for a four(4), and five(5) door model coming in the near future.
