The 2015 Range Rover Sport SVR.

When it comes down to powerful SUV’s what’s the one thing that normally comes to mind? Power, agility, towing capacity, street presence, room for the family perhaps? What if I mentioned the word speed to you, how would that factor into the mix? Well world renown auto maker Range Rover has been dropping tidbits of their brand new 2015 Range Rover Sport SVR all over the web, and so far we are highly impressed.
The 2015 Range Rover Sport SVR is more than just a long name, it’s an SUV that will do nothing more than dominate the roads, while providing one of the most comfortable rides in the world. Back in the day, lets say around 2006 the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 rolled onto the scene boasting 4.7 second 0 to 60 time, and was directly challenging the BMW X5 to do something about it. That little battle went on behind the scenes for the most part, and then soon died off. You then had more manufacturers trying to produce SUV’s that could not only give you the ability to handle your family’s needs, but also be able to go fast too. For what it’s worth, quite a few auto makers failed at trying to join the party, and pretty much left it up to the people who knew how to handle this sort of demand. The demand for an, “On road” fast SUV was small, but still noticeable. BMW with their skittle shaped X6, and their highly expensive X5 seemed to be cars for those who could actually afford them, and that pretty much left the Jeep SRT8 up to its own devices.
Fast forward to today, and we now have a Range Rover in the mix. The RR Sport has been a decent contender over the years, but pricing, a very small, “Sport SUV” niche has not allowed them to play a vital role in the standings. The 2015 RR Sport SVR has changed that notion all together. This new Range Rover Sport has been built with the sole purpose of out performing whomever dares to step up for a challenge. As it stands the revamped Jaguar Supercharged 5.0 Liter engine now produces 550BHP, and over 500lb feet of torque to its patented TwinSpeed transfer case, which allows all four wheels to either push or pull at a moments notice. Range Rover hasn’t made any formal announcements about the SVR aside from it being released around the fall of this year. Potentially. For the time being this powerful, and very nimble SUV has been seen at various venues around the world, showing off how well behaved its rear end can be whilst taking sharp corners at speed. As a matter of fact, it was just released that the 2015 Range Rover Sport SVR, has attained two automotive records at the world famous Nurburgring. With a complete lap time of 8 minutes, and 14 seconds, the RR Sport SVR not only is the fastest production SUV around the track, but now it is the fastest Range rover around the track too. It’s a small accomplishment to say the least, but when you can get an accolade that stabs at the heart of your competition, you’re obviously doing something right.
