The 2015 SRT Barracuda. A New Promise For The Future.
Updated December 28, 2016
It’s been a long time coming since the rumors started surfacing about the Chrysler Group coming out with the 2015 SRT Barracuda as a future model. Well finally the rumors will come to a halt with the notion that Chrysler is looking into not only building the Barracuda, but also amping up the way the Challenger drives, and handles.
So as it seems the 2015 SRT Barracuda will see the light of day, and be a formidable foe for it competitors the Mustang, and Camaro. It has already been speculated that in 2015 GM and Ford will be making some radical changes to their cars, and Dodge doesn’t have any plans on being left at the front door.
The Camaro is going to be blessed with something called the Alpha Platform which General Motors is going to have setup in their Cadillac ATS later this year. The Alpha Platform is still a “Hush, Hush” project, but speculations say that it involves Cadillac’s patented Magnetic ride technology, that will be compiled with some new suspension goodies to help keep the Camaro playing hard ball for the title of best Domestic coupe. The Blue Oval Boys have listened to the masses, and have finally caved in, and are now going to give the Mustang what it’s needed for the last 20 years or so. A thoroughly tested, and approved INDEPENDENT REAR SUSPENSION. (Can you hear the Angels singing?) HAAA-LELUJAH!!!! Yes the Mustang will be able to sling that weight around like a well oiled machine, and start erasing some of those previous Straight Axle lap times.
No real word on when development, of the 2015 SRT Barracuda will start, but obviously the Chrysler/Fiat Group has a solid two years to make it happen. At this stage in the game, there are way too many MOPAR fans that will be thoroughly pissed off, if this project decides to fall through. Besides, Chrysler needs the Barracuda to come to life, if they want to remain highly relevant in the sports car realm. Chip Foose can only customize but so many
