The 600 Horsepower Roush Ford F-150 is the Ultimate Pickup Truck
Check Out The 2016 Roush F-150 SC!
Updated October 2, 2018
For 2016, renowned Ford tuner Roush is making what may be the ultimate iteration of the best-selling vehicle in the US: the F-150 pickup. While many would argue that the ultimate F-150 is the Raptor, the Roush F-150 SC packs a punch that is hard for any other truck to match.
That’s because the F-150 SC has a 5.0 Liter V8 that has been taken to the next level via a Roush supercharger and performance exhaust system. Considering the engine puts out 385 horsepower and 387 lb-ft of torque, it’s easy to imagine that the upgrade would put it somewhere above 400 or even 500 horsepower.
Instead, the Roush F-150 SC make an eye-watering 600 horsepower and 557 lb-ft of torque. This package costs just under $23,000, which may seem like a lot until you consider that the suspension also gets a pretty significant overhaul.
For that, Roush contacted Fox Racing, who you may remember as the company that designed the suspension used in the Raptor, and came back with Fox Racing’s 2.0 Performance Series Suspension System. This system includes high-performance coil-over suspension for the front end and performance shocks for the rear. This makes plenty of room for the new 20-inch wheels and 12-inch wide Mickey Thompson Baja tires.
To finish off the look, Roush also adds larger fender flares, more lights up front, and enough decals to tell everyone, from every angle, that this is in fact a Roush F-150 SC and not some regular old pickup truck. Unlike with most tuned up cars, though, Roush will put a warranty on their work that protects the buyer for the first three years or 36,000 miles of use.
This announcement has no doubt excited many fans of the F-150 pickup, and a number of them are probably placing their orders as we speak at the select dealerships offering the Roush performance package. Others will hold out for the 2017 Raptor, which has not been announced yet but will no doubt be very impressive in its own right. It is going to be a great year for Ford fans.
