The 800 HP Ford Mustang Geiger GT 820
Published April 2, 2016
What happens when a German tuning firm applies their engineering expertise to an American muscle car? Fortunately, the fine folks at Geiger can answer that question for us.
Based in Munich Germany, the engineers at Geiger massage the Ford Mustang’s 5.0 liter V8 Coyote engine producing 435 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque to over 800 horsepower. This is accomplished by adding a 2.9 liter supercharger, a fine-balanced crankshaft, forged pistons, and steel connecting rods. The result is a huge bump in power with 385 horsepower and 160 ft-lbs of torque than the heavy-breathing Mustang left the factory with. This is a very impressive increase in power regardless of how you look at it.
Additional performance enhancements consists of a stainless steel sports exhaust system and a cold air intake system. All of these performance enhancements to the power plant of the Mustang GT result in an increase of 820 horsepower and 560 lb-ft of torque.
With such a significant increase in performance, additional systems need to be updated as well to provide an overall better driving experience. To ensure that the vehicle can stop as quickly as it can go, a Brembo 6-piston brake system is added.
Suspension and driveline improvements include a custom sport tuned suspension as well as a Torsen limited-slip rear differential with a 3.73:1 final drive ratio. The result is a complete upgrade to all driving systems making up the Ford Mustang Geiger GT 820.
Performance upgrades to the German Mustang are not just limited to the drivetrain of the vehicle. The body of the aggressive Mustang is upgraded as well. A carbon fiber body kit is added with an open grille, a front splitter, and sporty side skirts. Exterior enhancements extend to the rear of the vehicle in the form of a carbon fiber rear diffuser and trunk mounted spoiler. These enhancements ensure that the vehicle is able to slice through the air as efficiently as possible to make full use of all of the mechanical performance upgrades.
Keeping the 820 horsepower American icon on the ground are 20- inch lightweight forged alloy wheels wrapped in high performance Michelin tires.
For those buyers who want to upgrade every aspect of their Ford Mustang Geiger GT 820, a custom paint job is available in the color of the buyer’s choice for an additional charge.
All of the parts making up this massive Mustang transformation are available for purchase individually or as a completed vehicle like you see here.
There is no doubt that this is a thorough upgrade to an already awesome example of a famous American icon. I would be really curious to see how the German engineering influence is manifested into the driving experience of the Ford Mustang GT.
