The Ducati Monster PC: A Real Monster Of A Machine!
This Is The Ducati Monster Themed Gaming PC – For Real Ducati Nerds Only!
Updated August 21, 2018
Unlike KTM’s coffee machine, this phenomenal piece of technology is sadly not a licensed product. However, if Ducati did to decide to swap horsepower for gigabytes and build an official Ducati gaming computer, then they should give Juggapat Thonglue a call. Mr. Thonglue, a technology student from King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok, had fused to of his favorite things together: riding Ducati motorcycles and PC gaming, and the finished article is quite the thing.
Ducati Goes Gaming
You don’t have to be an absolute Ducati nerd to see where the inspiration has come from. The main bulk of the PC is wrapped in a protective shell very similar to the Ducati Monster’s iconic tubular steel trellis frame, in red of course, complete with carbon fiber “body work”, complimented with an upswept “exhaust.”
The core of the build is a little different to your standard Ducati though. Instead of being powered by an L-twin desmodromic unit, Juggapat’s system is powered by an Intel Core 17-3770s CPU, with a Cougar CMX 700w PSU, and comes complete with a Gigabyte GTX 970 Extreme graphics card. Which is…good? I guess? Computer internals aren’t really our strong point here at Gear Heads. But what we don’t know about computers, we definitely know about Ducatis. But we don’t think this one will be rolling into production anytime soon, sadly.
And the Ducati Monster PC price? We don’t even know how much a bespoke PC gaming machine would cost… Hopefully less than a Ducati Monster though. Although, Ducati may have to put their prices up soon, considering how much money they spent hiring Jorge Lorenzo to ride their Desmosedici GP17 race bike at the MotoGP this year. Maybe they could recoup some cash by moving into the PC market and shifting an official Ducati gaming computer to their loyal fans?
