The Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge. Fact or Fiction?
Let’s Take Another Look At That Amazing Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge Concept Model…
Updated October 11, 2018
There is a concept car that I’ve seen a few times online, and then it disappeared into the shadows like a Vanilla Ice rap single, but this concept had a lot more depth going for it. The vehicle that we’ll be looking at today is the Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge Concept.
As most of you out there pretty much know, Nissan as a brand has done nothing but share their greatness in all things automotive with the entire world. Levels of greatness that go by the names of Fairlady, Silvia, 280Z, and Skyline. These have been common names that have been a part of the Nissan family for decades now, and then at a certain point Nissan began to realize that luxury, and the way their cars were being produced could definitely go hand in hand. With that new ideal in mind, the developers at Nissan brought forth one of their most prized possessions, and it was called Infiniti. Now I won’t go into Infiniti’s back story, and bore you to death about their first line of cars, but rather let you take a look at the Q50 Eau Rouge Concept.
The Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge Concept is one of Infiniti’s main line cars that has a bigger than average heart then most of the other cars of its size. This particular Q50 just might come equipped with a Nissan GTR motor. Yes the very same 565HP twin turbo, aluminum V6 that was hand built at first, but has seen more action than Lindsey Lohan’s Facebook page. At least as of late. Anyway, the deal with this car was basically to create a high end luxury car that will rival the likes of Mercedes-Benz, Audi, and be better than a Porsche.
The Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge has some other distinguishing features about it other than what’s under the hood. First off, the stance of this wonderfully designed machine has been given a sort of hunkered down, and ready to fight look. A widened body, lowered active suspension, some wheel flares, and then add in a seriously awesome looking set of forged light weight 21 inch wheels, and this baby is ready to go. The Eau Rouge utilizes Infiniti’s newest, and by far most aggressive looking front fascia to let onlookers know that this is more than a simple luxury vehicle.
Even the Mercedes S Class doesn’t really look as sinister as the Q50. Active HID lighting swivel, and follow large items on the road as you drive by. At some points you’d swear that this car was looking at people when they walk by. Adding to the body of the Q50 are some newly added Carbon Fiber lower skirts that not only add to the aerodynamics of the car, but also push the overall look to the tuner side a bit.
Inside of the Infiniti Q50 is nothing but pure unadulterated leather and technology. Color matched Carbon Fiber and smoked chrome pieces are scattered about the cabin’s interior which further promotes the ideal of providing the driver the utmost in sporting luxury. Leather wrapped steering wheel, F1 style paddle shifters, a full digital LED screen behind the wheel, and then there’s the center stack that beckons for someone to touch and play with it. Infiniti hasn’t been too forthcoming on any other details about this car, and that’s thing that has been bothering me about it.
This is a car that looks, and appears like it can be produced, and it should be produced. Now, what we do know is that through Nissan’s numerous joint ventures, they have quite a few engine options that can be slotted into this car, but why bother? Do any of you out there really think that Renault can provide an engine that can be mightier than the twin turbo V6? I mean the GTR as it stands now is one of the most tuned vehicles on the planet, and then if this version of the Q50 is produced with that same motor, could you imagine the endless possibilities that would await us in the future? I can imagine seeing this angry looking sedan flying down a mile long track in a blur of red devastating power, with an exhaust that screams, “Hulk Smash!!!”
