This Ford Dealership Has a New 727 HP Mustang For Under $40,000
727 HP Mustang For Sale – Who Wants It?!
Updated October 2, 2018
Although $62,495 is still a lot of money for most of us, it’s something of a bargain when it gets you as much car as it does with the 707 horsepower Dodge Challenger Hellcat. However, it now appears there’s a way of getting even more horsepower for considerably less, without having to go down the route of ridiculously tuning an old used car. You could be forgiven for thinking that a brand new 727 horsepower Mustang GT for over $20,000 less than a Challenger Hellcat sounds too good to be true, but it appears that it’s not.
For just $39,995, the folks at Lebanon Ford of Lebanon, Ohio, will supply you with a new Ford Mustang GT fitted with a Roush Stage 2 Supercharger kit that cranks it up from its original 435 ponies, to 727 horsepower and 610 lb.-ft. of torque. There’s also a slightly less expensive option where you can go for a Stage 1 kit instead, which gets you a still-not-too-shabby 670 horsepower and 545 lb.-ft.
Now here comes the bad news. Having either kit fitted to your new GT will invalidate your manufacturer warranty, although the dealer will give you a 3-year, 36,000-mile parts warranty for the Stage 2 kit and a 3-year, 36,000-mile warranty for the whole drivetrain with the Stage 1 kit. However, even though the GT has line-lock as a standard feature from the factory, the warranty clearly states that “the implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose does not apply if your vehicle is used for racing, even if the vehicle is equipped for racing.” So, if you are going to race your GT, you’re going to void the warranty anyhow.
With a 2016 GT350 costing upwards of $55,000, or more if you want to jump the line, the option offered by Lebanon Ford is seriously tempting. The package is perfect for the drag strip as it’s a performance upgrade for the engine only, without the suspension, chassis, and parts upgrades that help a car handle better.
