Top Ten Most Expensive Cars In The World

Updated November 22, 2013

GearHeads alike, Everybody loves a list full of superlatives, which is why the Guinness Book of Records has been so successful for so many years, and everybody also loves to know what the rich and famous do with the vast amounts of money that they spend. Here is a little compilation that should give you some idea exactly where some of those millions that you will never have go!

Bugatti Veyron Super Sports: Many cars could make this list which are no longer legal to be driven on the street. This beauty is fully road worthy and just dying to make an impact on your bank account.  With a top speed of 267 mph and a 0-60 of 2.5 seconds you can get a little bit of an idea as to why somebody with more money than sense might want to take a spin in this monster!

2012 Koenigsegg Agera R: Coming out of a country not renowned for its fast cars, this Swedish made machine is absolute beast with a price of near $2 million dollars. A 0-60 of only 2.9 seconds perhaps explains why the Bugatti is still almost a million dollars more expensive!

Ferrari 559 XX: Any list of the world’s most expensive cars would not be complete without an entry from probably the world’s most prestigious manufacturer. This is a race only model, too powerful for the normal roads, bot owners should not despair as Ferrari regularly put on exclusive track events for members of this club! The least they can do for $2 million dollars.

Aston Martin One-77: Loved by James Bond, but this is one model the Queen will probably not be financing for her favourite secret agent. Top speed of 220mph and a price tag of close to $2 million!

Pagani Zonda Clinque Roadster: This is one of the most exotic cars in the world and as with the rest of this club, also one of the most exclusive. A top speed of 217mph and 0-60 in 3.4 seconds. Not bad!

Zenvo ST1: Yet another beauty that comes not out of Italy but from Scandinavia. This Danish powerhouse will certainly turn heads and also leave that close to $2 million hole in your bank balance!

Lamborghini Reventon: One of THE names in world super cars, this is the most powerful and the most expensive Lamborghini has ever built. It takes 3.3 seconds to reach 60 mph and it has a top speed of 211 mph. Only twenty of these bad boys are in existence!

Hennessey Venom GT: A bargain at a million dollars for this car from the home of MORE, the United States. A beautiful car but not entirely an original as the chassis is donated, and stretched, from the Lotus Elise Platform.

McLaren F1: Who doesn’t want to drive like Lewis Hamilton? He may have left their F1 team, but he can still relive past glories with this incredible road version of the racing car. Amazing!

Porsche 918 Spyder Concept: No list like this could be complete without a mention of Porsche. A top speed of just under 200mph, a 0-60 of 3.2 seconds, and a price tag of just over a cool $3.2 million. Wow!

About Calvin Escobar

The Car scene is so diverse Where I come from, most enthusiasts recognize the amazing engineering (particularly the engines). The bulk of the ridicule originates from the manner in which many of the vehicles are modded/maintained. Thus, the jokes and or hate tends to be aimed more at the owner rather than the machine. All of which makes seeing properly sorted old Toyota's and Hondas at car meets, auto shows, and track days all the more refreshing.
