Trick Star’s White H2R Makes 385 km/h

Published February 13, 2016

Remember Trick Star’s white Kawasaki Ninja H2R? Well, not only did it look the part but a video has surfaced of it clocking an incredible speed of 385 km/h (239.9 mph). According to the rider, Ryuji Tsuruta, it could go faster.

When we first saw Japanese-based Trick Star’s Kawasaki H2R makeover, we were too blown away by its good looks to notice that it was packing a serious amount of mods under the fairings, and Trick Star set themselves the challenge of clocking a top speed of 400 km/h on the hyper machine. Unfortunately, they weren’t able to break the 400 km/h bar but they had a damn good try.

To reach their top speed of 385 km/h, Trick Star had to remove the factory standard winglets. The Kawasaki’s winglets are supposed to increase the H2R’s stability and add a bit of much needed down force, but at such high speeds, they only created unnecessary drag and didn’t help the rider at all. On top of that, Trick Star turned to Dunlop for special tires, because they feared that at such high speeds, the extreme G-force could make conventional rubbers explode. Now, we’re certain that there are a hell of a lot more modifications going on, but Trick Star haven’t released anymore information about their stunning H2R.

They were quick to say that the Kawasaki H2R is probably capable of hitting the 400 km/h barrier, but due to the constraints of their test track, it wasn’t possible. Perhaps at a different circuit, with a longer straight for the H2R to really stretch its legs on, it could in future. We’ll just have to wait and see. Until then, 385 km/h is more than enough for anyone!
