The Special Edition Triumph Street Triple RX “Black”
The New Street Triple RX Comes With An Aggressive “Black” Graphic Scheme
Updated August 10, 2018
You’ve the 2016 Speed Triple, but you might not have seen the Triumph Street Triple RX. Originally, Triumph displayed the RX variant in silver and red only, back in November at the Motorcycle Live event in Birmingham, UK, but recent photos have surfaced it showing off a rather interesting color scheme – sure, it’s black, as expected but with a surprising amount of “pink” on it…or will they tactically call it “magenta,” instead? Or is it all an illusion? But let’s not dwell on the color at the moment. Firstly, this special edition machine will be available from the beginning of this month (January) and should sell remarkably well in both its silver and black liveries. Why? Because it’s packing graphics inspired by the very successful Daytona 675R, a sleeker and sharper seat than the regular Street Triple R and packs a pretty decent price of around $12,500.

On top of that, you’ve also got a power output of 105 bhp from its 675cc, in line 3 cylinder engine, which is not to be dismissed. And of course, it’s a Special Edition, which basically means that it comes in black…with pink. Alright, it’s not pink, it’s red – it is just a trick of the photo, unless Triumph are fitting all their models with pink brake lights too? It seems that to make this a version a genuine Special Edition, they’ve just photoshopped the original photos to make it appear different. The Special Edition model also comes with a belly pan, so perhaps that’s what makes it more special?
But if it was really in pink, would that put you off buying one, or would it encourage you? Personally, when I first saw these pictures, I kind of wished it was pink – just to break away from the monotony of most factory colors. But alas, it’s red. The proper pictures are below, direct from Triumph, before someone hastily photoshopped the pictures.
