Twin Turbo Viper With Stock Engine Managed 194 mph At Half-Mile
Amazing Achievement Twin Turbo Viper
Published June 25, 2017
The Viper can smash records with a stock motor like it’s nothing. See, the car we are talking about here has a stock 8.3 V10 and it managed to break some kind of half-a-mile record hitting 194 mph in the process.
Ok, the engine was modified, but no one did a swap. This is the twin turbo Viper. Calvo Motorsport garnished it with a twin turbo setup managing to increase the output from stock 640hp to amazing 1300 hp. Doubled power definitely made the twin turbo Viper more than capable of hypercar speeds.
Apart from installing the twin-turbo setup not much has been done to the car. Sure, the car received Custom fuel system, Motec remapped ECU and a clutch by Tilton. After all, making a charge at half-mile records requires enough fuel for the V10 and a powerful enough clutch to ensure all those horses actually reach the wheels and tarmac.
Calvo Motorsport twin turbo Viper Has A Lot More Potential
This is not the first time that Calvo Motorsport is working on a Viper. Before, they made an awesome 2000hp machine. But this one, with so few modifications, definitely feels a bit more special.
The video embedded down there shows how insanely brutal this Viper feels. And all that with stock tires. Imagine gifting it with better tires. Or Drag Radials for that matter. It would hit 200mph for sure.
After all, it seems the owner wants to keep it as stock as possible. And this is not the first time we can see this Viper in action. It also appeared at the Texas Invitational event earlier this year. The owner hadn’t change tires since.
