Vintage Dart Blows Rear Axle in Epic Style

The owner of the deep red vintage 60’s Dodge Dart knows how to put on a show without going fast.  Things do go south for him real fast, though.

In the suburban community of Stony Plain, outside of Edmonton, a dashcam catches it on film. The owner of the 60’s era Dart hasn’t owned the car very long at all and is out for a joyride on what looks to be a gorgeous evening. As he’s out for a boot around town, he makes the decision to show off what his car has got. And then he shows what his car no longer has.

He hammers on the throttle and the car lurches forward quickly. The rear end starts hopping and it’s evident something isn’t right. It takes only a second, from start to finish, before the complete rear axle assembly exits out from under the muscle car. The back end of the Dart slams on the pavement and slides to an abrupt halt.

The occupants of the car that catch it all on camera howl uncontrollably at the poor fellow’s misfortune. You may want to turn down your speaker volume for that.

About Calvin Escobar

The Car scene is so diverse Where I come from, most enthusiasts recognize the amazing engineering (particularly the engines). The bulk of the ridicule originates from the manner in which many of the vehicles are modded/maintained. Thus, the jokes and or hate tends to be aimed more at the owner rather than the machine. All of which makes seeing properly sorted old Toyota's and Hondas at car meets, auto shows, and track days all the more refreshing.

At Autowise, we envision ourselves as not just a automobile blog or an automobile news website, instead we see our website as a platform to connect all automobile enthusiast and provide them with all the information they need.
