Vorsteiner’s Upgrades Make Porsche Cayman GT4 Even Faster on the Track
Published July 14, 2016
Vorsteiner is an American company from California that specializes in producing custom body kits for sports cars. Recently, they released the new V-CS Aero kit, designed especially for 981 Cayman GT4. The upgrades not only make the car go faster on the racing track, they also make it look a lot cooler.
V-CS Aero kit includes front splitter, side skirts, and a fixed rear wing, all made of pre-preg carbon fiber. For all of these upgrades, a UV-inhibiting clear lacquer coating was used, giving it that dangerous look. Apart from the features meant for improving the aerodynamics of the car, there’s also a rear diffuser included in the pack. The icing on the cake is the set of four 19″ V-FF 106 flow forged wheels.
Of course, simply claiming that these upgrades would make the Cayman faster means nothing, so people from Vorsteiner put it on a test. They wanted to see if the 981 Cayman GT4 with the V-CS Aero kit performs better on the track than the regular model. The results were as they’d expected – the kit helped the Cayman finish the race a second faster.
Porsche Cayman GT4 is a powerful beast on the road, with its 3.8-liter engine capable of producing 385 horsepower. Now imagine making this sports car even more agile in high speed corners, which is exactly what the new Vorsteiner kit does. If the V-CS Aero kit is used, Cayman will accelerate to 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than 4.4 seconds, with the top speed of 295 km/h (183 mph).
