For a deposit of just under $6,000 you could reserve yourself a limited-edition Sarolea Manx7: a fierce electric racer boasting 204 hp, a range of over 200 miles, and a top speed of 150 mph. It’s a state of the art electric motorcycle, with each model hand built by top level engineers, that comes equipped with the best technology available…and it’s road legal too. For a mere $5,900 deposit, you can get yourself in line for one of the first 250 that are up for sale. That money only gets you so far though, because if you want to throw your leg over one of these bespoke beauties, you’re going to have to fork out at least another $45k upon delivery.
The Exclusive Sarolea Motorcycle: The Manx7 Electric Superbike
It’s a lot of money, but Sarolea are being more than fair with their deposit policy. The deposit is fully refundable should you have a change of heart…but in reality, the full ticket price is a small price to pay for such an engineering marvel. Underneath the carbon fiber bodywork and monocoque chassis, you’ll find a cutting edge brushless DC-3 phase electric motor that boasts 204 hp (150 kW), 332 lb-ft of torque (450 Nm), with a respectable top speed of 150 mph, and an impressive 200 mile range.
There are three types of Sarolea Manx7 to choose from, with varying performance specs and frighteningly high price tags, but considering the on board technology, the price is appropriate. The price difference mainly reflects the battery output and range, with the cheapest option’s 14 kWh battery offering 140 miles, and the most expensive (22 kWh) offering 205 miles.
Pretty much everything that can be carbon fiber is carbon fiber, from the frame to the bodywork, and the swingarm too. The wheel options include forged aluminum, magnesium or carbon, and they come equipped with Beringer Aerotec brakes at the front and rear. The suspension duties are handled by Ohlins FGRT-200 forks up front, twinned with a single Ohlins TTX36 shock at the back.
It really is quite impressive – and what’s more, each hand built motorcycle from the legendary Saroléa factory can be fully customized to accommodate any riders hardware choices or aesthetics tastes too – ll you have to do is ask. And of course, each Sarolea motorcycle model comes with a full two year mechanical warranty, as one expects on any motorcycle with that kind of price tag. So, who’s going to treat themselves to a late Christmas present? Saroléa are taking reservations already…
