The Lamborghini Gallardo Go-Kart is a Madman’s Wet Dream

A Lamborghini Go-Kart for Grown-Ups

While most Formula 1 drivers start out at the go-kart track, it’s no secret that the machines they find themselves piloting today bear no resemblance to those of their youth. This Lamborghini go-kart, however, could very well be ready to bring us the best of both worlds.

Heffner Performance did the unthinkable when they took the Luc Donckerwolke-designed body of a Lamborghini Gallardo and turned it into a street-legal go-kart. The aptly named LamboKart started life as a single-clutch automated manual transmission-ed exotic supercar with a roaring 520 HP V10 under the hood. The V10 is still there but Heffner Performance saw it fit to strip the body down and add twin TiAL Sport turbos. All this equates to a curb weight of 2,500lbs, some 700lbs lighter than the original car.

The car is equipped with a half roll cage, a huge diffuser, and not much else, which could be a recipe for disaster in terms of aerodynamics. Nevertheless, the bare-bones Lambo is set to be on the road later this year taking our octane-fueled childhood dreams to a whole-new level. Hopefully, it’ll be sporting an F1-grade racing wing by then.

About Chris Riley

I have been wrecking cars for as long as I've been driving them, but I keep coming back for more. Two wheels or four, I'm all in. I founded GearHeads.org and then built and ran AutoWise.com until selling it to Lola Digital Media in 2020. I look forward to watching AutoWise grow as part of the AllGear group.
