Since its introduction in 1964 the Mustang has built a loyal and enthusiastic following. So much so that it’s America’s best-selling sports car of the last 50-years. Today the car is celebrating two global sales crowns. The Ford Mustang has earned the IHS Markit titles of the world’s best-selling sports car in 2019 and its fifth straight best-selling sports coupe title.
World’s Best Selling Sports Car
Ford has sold 633,000 of its latest generation -sixth-gen- Mustangs in 146 countries around the world, between 2015 and December 2019. This includes 102,090 Mustangs in 2019 alone.
Strong international sales have kept the poney love burning strong. In 2019 Mustang sales in Germany increased 33 percent, in Poland sales rose by nearly 50 percent, and in France, they nearly doubled.
Mustang Performance Drives Sales
