The well-known automobile analysts at Kelley Blue Book (KBB) have carefully selected ten of the best used cars available today, all costing less than $8,000. This 2016 list considers the current average market price for these used cars and is sure to have something for everyone. We have decided to check out the KBB list for ourselves and give our opinion on their top ten.

10. 2010 Kia Soul

The Kia Soul is one of the two 2010 cars to be in this top ten list. This car has a fun and funky appearance and is suitable for everyone. Prices for this fantastic used car begin at $5,250 for the basic Soul+ model. The Soul Base and Soul! will set you back around $7,991, while the Soul Sport has a price range from $6,999-$7,995.

9. 2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata

For a used car, this one is truly awesome. It offers a convertible, comfortable, and classy experience, while also having sophistication and style. The Base model will set you back between $7,989 and $8,000 and is the most expensive Mazda Miata. The other options are the Touring model costing $6,785-$7,900 and the sport option which costs around $4,790-$7.920.

8. 2007 Subaru Impreza

This Subaru Impreza comes with the standard all-wheel drive and is packed with performance despite its small interior space. For the Impreza 2.5i you can expect to pay between $5,499 and $7,900. There is a range of styles to choose form, including the wagon, sedan or coupe models.

7. 2007 Nissan Maxima

The best parts of this 2007 Nissan Maxima have got to be the rapid V6 3.5 liter engine and the pleasing price range of $4,500-$7,995 for the Maxima 3.5 SE, and $5,990 and $7,995 for the Maxima 3.5 SL. This superb sedan also offers comfort for the passengers, with plenty of space and modern interior features.

6. 2006 Subaru Outback

For a used car, this 2006 Subaru outback has it all. Everything about it makes it an appealing option. Firstly, it has got to be one of the most appealing cars on this list in terms of appearance. It comes with the added bonus of impressive traction for all weathers. With luxurious being a focus on the interior, the outside screams power and performance. The options of both a 2.5 liter and 3.0 liter engine ensure it lives up to its looks. For the used Outback 2.5i Limited you can expect to pay between $5,500 and $8,000. For the Outback 2.5i prices start at $4,995 and go up to $8,000. The Outback 3.0 R L. L. Bean is at the top end of the budget at $7,795, but worth every penny.

5. 2008 Ford Crown Victoria

Extremely popular when it was released, this stylish car has the benefits of being comfortable and spacious like a true family sedan. It is reliable and is a wise choice for a used car. The Crown Victoria Police Interceptor will sell from $3,000 to $7,995 and there is also the option of paying between $4,595 and $7,995 for the Crown Victoria LX Sedan.

4. 2008 Toyota Corolla

Renowned for its reliability, this is a great used car to drive. Not the most attractive on the list, however, what it lacks in looks it makes up in space, comfort, fuel efficiency, and cost. The Toyota Corolla LE starts from as low as $2,950 to $7,888, while the Corolla S has a price range of $3,999 to $7,995, or you can pay between $6,995 and $7,588 for the Corolla CE.

3. 2010 Honda Civic

The more recent 2010 Honda Civic is available in a range of models for under $8,000, including the Civic EX-S with a starting price of $6,250, the Civic EX for $8,000 or one of the popular LX models priced at $6,995-$7,900. This car is predictable and is very unlikely to let you down. It is cheap to run in terms of fuel and is a safe and stable vehicle.

2. 2007 Honda Accord

If you have a family-sized sedan in mind, the Honda Accord is an excellent choice. This car looks younger than it is and is fuel efficient, spacious and known for its reliability. In terms of a used car, this one has pretty much everything. The Honda Accord LX and XL-P are priced between $5,990 and $8,000. There are further options to pick from as well; the Accord LX-S, LX-P, EX-L and EX which remain within the $8k limit.

1. 2006 Toyota Avalon

This is a great option if you are after a smart, yet practical sedan that will comfortably cart you and your family around, with additional space for shopping, folded prams etc. Although a decade old, this car is renowned for its lack of deterioration over time. This T2006 Avalon was a top quality car of its time, one of Toyota’s high-end models. There are a few different 2006 Toyota Avalon specs to choose from, all within the $8k budget. The 2006 Toyota Avalon Touring is priced between $5,998 and $7,995. The 2006 Avalon Limited can be snapped up for around $5,999-$7,994, or you may prefer the Avalon XL ranging from $6,488-$7,998. The highest priced option, although still a great deal, is the Avalon XLS costing between $6,750 and $7,995.
