Jeep never disappoints with its annual Easter Jeep Safari (EJS) concept vehicles. The 2021 EJS Jeep concept vehicles are no exception. As usual, Mark Allen, head of design for Jeep, created a few amazing vehicles and Jeep Performance Parts (JPP) created a few. This year Jeep is bringing 4 new concepts, and 3 that came out last year (2020 EJS was canceled because of COVID), to Easter Jeep Safari, March 27 to April 4 in Moab, UT.

2021 EJS Jeep Concept Vehicles
2021 Jeep Magneto Concept
The first battery-electric vehicle (BEV) from Jeep ever, the Jeep Magneto Concept is going to turn some heads and be a testbed for future technologies. The Magneto concept is based on a 2020 2-door Wrangler Rubicon. It has an electric motor connected to a 6-speed manual transmission. This unique combo makes for the ultimate instant-torque rock-crawling Wrangler.
The e-motor is tuned to deliver the same power output as the 3.6L V6 that it replaces, 285 hp and 273 lb.-ft. of torque. Even with similar tuning, the Jeep Magneto concept is a bit slower to 60 mph, 6.8 versus 6.3. Max torque is instantaneous, however, which means the Magneto will be amazing at rock crawling. Although it has a manual gearbox to change gears, you can’t stall it with the clutch, a welcome feature on the trail.
Four lithium-ion battery packs produce 70 kW/h and run the 800-volt system. A 12-volt system runs things like the heat and accessories like the Warn winch. The batteries are distributed throughout the vehicle to provide even weight balance and are protected by custom skid-plates. The entire system is also waterproof, maintaining the Wrangler Rubicon’s 30-inch water fording capability.
A JPP 2-inch lift, 17-inch wheels wrapped in 35-inch MT tires, a custom roll-cage, Mopar rock-rails, and steel bumpers help make the 2021 Jeep Magneto Concept truly capable off-road. The custom white and blue color scheme throughout is supposed to hint at the electric powertrain lurking within this impressive little Jeep.
2021 Jeepster Beach Concept
Jeep always builds at least one vehicle that pays homage to its past, for 2021 that vehicle is the Jeepster Beach concept. This vehicle is a 1968 Jeepster Commando restomod, built on a 2020 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. It is a throwback to the second-generation Jeepster, but with all modern components and all the beach-themed open-air fun in the sun of the original.
A tuned 2.0L 4-cylinder under the hood puts out 340 hp and 369 lb.-ft. of torque, through an 8-speed automatic transmission and 4:1 transfer case. That power is put to the ground through 35-inch tires.
A striking red-leather interior makes the two-tone custom exterior paint pop even more. Low-back bucket seats ooze the care-free beach-attitude that this Jeep concept is all about. A full roll-cage and no carpets let you know that this Jeep concept is all about the go as well as the show.
2021 Jeep Red Bare Concept
Jeep of course wants to showcase its EcoDiesel powertrain and mightily Gladiator pickup. For the 2021 Easter Jeep Safari, Jeep created the Red Bare diesel Gladiator concept truck. This diesel Gladiator has an impressive 91:1 crawl ratio and power (260 hp) and torque (442 lb.-ft.) to match. Custom Dana 44 axels with 4.88 gears optimize off-road performance.
Fire Cracker Red paint is accented with matte black graphics and gold accents. A factory soft-top and half-doors showcase the legendary open-air fun that Jeep is known for. All carpet has been removed and replaced with truck-bed liner, for the ultimate in wash out open-air functionality. Inside the Jeep Red Bare concept has black leather seats with red stitching and flannel inserts, which also carry over to the dash.
Of course, the Red Barre diesel Gladiator concept has a load of aftermarket parts to make it quite capable as well. It has a 2-inch JPP lift to help accommodate the 37-inch BFG MT tires wrapped on 17-inch wheels. It also has a sport bar in the cargo bed, JPP Sand Slider rock rails, Warn winch, and a bed cover and rack system.
2021 Jeep Orange Peelz Concept
The Jeep Orange Peelz Concept is a two-door V6 Wrangler-based go-anywhere off-road capable tribute to the open-air freedom that has made the Jeep Wrangler an icon and much-loved vehicle around the globe. Prototype JPP half-doors and a custom removable one-piece Freedom Top glass sunroof are sure to bring the outside in on this Jeep concept.
Prototype steel “high-top” fender flares along with a 2-inch JPP lift with FOX shocks help 37-inch BFG KM3 MT tires on 17-inch wheels fit under this two-door Wrangler concept. A bright “Orange Peelz” exterior paint is accented with satin-black graphics and vintage fender badges.
The Jeep Orange Peelz concept is completed with an 8,000 lb Warn winch mounted to a custom JPP front bumper, JPP 5-inch ditch lights, custom rock rails, JPP cold-air intake, JPP cat-back exhaust system, and a JPP Swing Gate Hinge Reinforcement, which allows for fitment of the 37-inch spare tire. A Mopar windshield made of Corning Gorilla Glass offers unparalleled resistance to rock chips and windshield damage on the trail.
2020 Jeep Concepts at The 2021 EJS
Besides these new machines, Jeep is also bringing out a few of its concept vehicles that they created for the 2020 EJS that never happened, because COVID. The Jeep Gladiator Farout concept, Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 concept, and Jeep Gladiator Top Dog will be at the event this year. The Jeep Rubicon 392 even found its way into production and will be hitting dealer lots soon.
