Koenigsegg Agera RS Naraya With A Gold & Diamond Touch

One of a kind Koenigsegg Naraya is decked out with a Midas Touch

They have put gold on it. Like, real 18-carat gold. This is the second Koenigsegg Agera RS ever delivered and it is the first one for a European customer. Like the Koenigsegg Agera XS previously delivered to American customer, the European car is also rather special. It has a new name too – Naraya. This was its new owner’s wish as the name Naraya means much for the family. We are not sure who is the owner, but we can see that he likes gold a lot. So much so that Koenigsegg called Ettore Callegaro, an Italian artisan known for his works with gold to work on this car. Bespoke golden decorations were so extensive that Callegaro worked for 12 days, 12 hours a day to put it all together. Unveiled pictures do not really do justice to the time and effort that went into creating this car.

Decoration made with 18-carat gold leaves inside and outside definitely jacked up the price. The Koenigsegg Agera RS price rests at $1.65 million, but we cannot even imagine how much money does this custom work cost. Other special features include blue bare carbon finish. The owner wanted the monocoque tub finished the same way despite the fact that he will probably never see it with his eyes. The tub is buried deep under the skin. This kind of detailing put the Koenigsegg in the same boat with the best works of today. Attention to detail is probably at the level of Bentley’s Mulliner or Bespoke Rolls-Royce program.

Inside is decorated with golden leaves as well. The painstaking process of “gold-leafing” any surface is not the most bizarre part of this car. The name Naraya set in front of the passenger seat is bedazzled with 155 diamonds from Ada Diamonds in California. Blue Alcantara seats and Alcantara upholstery on almost all other surfaces make a nice departure from the shine and flash of gold of the Koenigsegg Naraya. True, all this is a bit bizarre and pointless, but then again, the company had to honor the buyer’s wishes.

What is not pointless is the V8 engine and seven-speed paddle shift gearbox. 5-liter, V8 with two turbochargers produces a fantastic 1,160 hp and 944 lb-ft of torque. Considering the Agera RS weighs at 3,075 lbs, we can be certain this is one of the fastest cars of all time. Putting all this power to the rear wheels is not an easy task. Koenigsegg created an e-diff system, a number of different electronic stability programs and driving aids. Then, there are lightweight carbon-fiber wheels shod in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup2 tires (Front: 265/35 – 19”; Rear: 345/30 – 20”).

Koenigsegg Naraya Side Profile

Such a setup is easily enough to make the Koenigsegg Agera RS Naraya superfast. 60 mph in 2.6 seconds, 186 mph in 14 seconds and 250 mph in 20 seconds. The Chiron will have problems matching all of this brutality.

Nevertheless, Koenigsegg will produce 25 Agera RS cars. You guessed it – sold out!

About Safet Satara

I do not have spare time. All there is is car time. 12 years and counting. I am a Central European gearhead, but you are probably thinking - aaa a disposable Borg drone! Well, actually, I like to dress up like James Bond too. The only thing I need to be him is an Aston Martin (and I love DBS more than DB5 because, reasons). That's something I guess.
