Land Rover Announces Extremely Limited “Trophy Edition” Defender

Today, Land Rover announced a limited run of 220 Trophy Edition Defenders to be sold exclusively in the U.S. And along with their new Defender, owners will receive an exclusive invite to the Land Rover U.S. Trophy Competition. The event will be held at Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina, on October 11, 2021.

This one-day, off-road adventure will showcase 90 teams competing in several on- and off-road challenges. Drivers can even sign up for one-on-one coaching, taking advantage of Land Rover’s team of experts to really get comfortable with the capabilities of their Trophy Edition Defender.

“The Defender Trophy Edition evokes the spirit of adventure with an array of off-road accessories and special features created for the ultimate Land Rover enthusiast,” said Joe Eberhardt, President & CEO, Jaguar Land Rover North America. “We’re looking forward to putting on a memorable adventure competition for our Defender Trophy Edition customers that will not only put these vehicles to the test but will also create a special shared experience honoring the rich heritage of the Land Rover brand.”

The overall winning team will earn a slot at the 2022 Land Rover Trophy Competition at Eastnor Castle in the U.K., the home of Land Rover’s testing and development.

The Trophy Edition Defender is based on the 2022 Defender 110 P400 X-Dynamic SE and comes standard with a host of off-road-ready features. Highlights include:

  • Expedition roof rack
  • Front undershield
  • Deployable ladder
  • Winch installation kit
  • Mudflaps
  • Integrated air compressor
  • Air suspension pack
  • Off-road Pack (with ability to add Advanced Off-road Capability Pack)

The package also includes additional functional features like a tow hitch receiver, Cold Climate Pack, and an 11.4-inch touchscreen for easy navigation. On the interior, the Defender also gets deep-sided rubber mats to help keep the mud and grime at bay.

Last but not least, the Trophy Edition Defender comes with a custom wrap, inspired by the Defender Works V8 Trophy, and an Extended Black Exterior Pack that will make this 4×4 stand out as the unique, limited edition that it is. 

The Trophy Edition Defender comes with a starting price of $90,000 and can be purchased at certain Land Rover retailers in the U.S. starting this August. To learn more, visit Land Rover’s website.
