Donald Trump’s Most Unusual Car Collection
What is your favorite from the Donald Trump Car collection?
Donald Trump is estimated to be worth approximately 4.5 Billion dollars, so what kind of cars does a man this wealthy own? You will be surprised to find out that among his Rolls Royce’s and Mercedes, there are some odd cars that most folks would never guess that he has in his collection. A few cars in his exquisite collection come with some great stories as well.
Let’s take a look at the cars this Billionaire has in his possession: (Let’s begin with the most obvious)
2003 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren
In the early 2000’s, this was the pinnacle of high-dollar sports cars; it carries the names “Benz” and “McLaren”, so what more could you ask for? 2003 was the first year they produced this sleek-looking sport coupe and was limited to only 370 cars. Its V8 engine cranked out a whopping 617 horsepower and 575 lb. ft. of torque. Those are still very impressive numbers. With a price tag of over $450,000, this car is sure to be a good investment.
2015 Mercedes-Benz S600
When your name is Trump, you have to set the bar high, you want everyone to be envious of you and the cars you own. Such is the case for the S600, it is perhaps the most incredible car he owns due to the James Bond-type safety features it comes equipped with: the ability to withstand small arms fire or small explosive devices, self-sealing gas tank, and state-of-the-art alarm system. The 6.0 liter V12 engine pumps out over 500 horsepower and 523 lb. ft. of torque mated to a seven speed torque-converter automatic transmission. And if you think this big heavy land barge is slow, I beg to differ: zero to 60 mph is reported to be 4.6 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph.
1956 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud
It’s reported that this car was one of the first cars that Donald Trump ever owned. Because of his great love for the Rolls Royce brand and this type being so special, the story goes that he had Rolls to build him one just like his original car. After all, it’s not every day you see one of these cruising down the road, but if you do, it always causes you to look twice! They just don’t make them like this anymore…..that is unless your last name is Trump and you ask the factory to build you one.
2015 Rolls-Royce Phantom
Rumor has it that Trump actually drives this one some himself. With a starting price before any custom options are added of $500,000, you can bet he rides in style. The Phantom is truly the ultimate luxury sedan, however it has an 8-speed transmission and a 6.75 liter V12 engine with a respectable 453 horsepower. In case Mr. Trump wants to get to one of his luxury towers in a hurry, the car will scat from zero to 60 mph in less than 6 seconds. For a car that weighs nearly 6000 pounds and almost 20 feet long, that is pretty impressive speed.
2011 Chevy Camaro Indy 500 Pace Car
It’s fast and it’s as American as Apple pie right? This car comes with an interesting story…..it was reported that Mr. Trump was supposed to drive this car in the 100th Indianapolis 500, however, due to a scheduling conflict he could not make it and was replaced by AJ Foyt (a great replacement choice). GM only built 500 of these replicas to match the 1969 edition that also paced the Indy 500, but this model comes equipped with a much more powerful 6.2 liter V-8 rated at 426 horsepower.
24-Karat Gold Orange County Chopper
Donald had this bike commissioned, but I have to ask….why? Is it just a show piece or does he actually ride this around? I’d say that to him this is a like a die-cast model that we go to a superstore and buy to sit in a curio cabinet…just for looks. Or perhaps he bought it as an investment, since these custom one-off choppers can fetch a hefty price, and surprisingly do hold their value.
2016 Cadillac Escalade
Let’s face it; very few rich people can resist the sheer luxury and spaciousness that Cadillac’s largest car ever has to offer. Donald Trump among them. But refinement and size aren’t everything this land yacht has to offer. Underneath its slab-sided nose is a 6.2L V8 capable enough of generating 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. Although it also guzzles fuel like there’s no tomorrow, Mr. President doesn’t have to worry about that. One upside of him owning the Escalade is that the SUV is American made.
Although Mr. Trump isn’t exactly petite, that doesn’t hinder him from owning small cars. If they’re good, that is. Well, Tesla Roadster isn’t exactly the sharpest vehicle Elon Musk’s team ever produced. But it is compact. That’s one out of two, I guess. Anyway, the Lotus-inspired all-electric roadster is another American made car in Donald Trump’s garage full of imports. That’s nice to hear, especially with his presidential campaign promises. We don’t exactly know the year of his Tesla Roadster, but EV sports car was available between 2008 and 2012. Back then it sported little more than 200-mile range, but has been updated since. We wonder if Mr. Trump received his 3.0 range extender update?
One can never have enough high-end luxury German cars. That appears to be one of Mr. Trump’s mottos. He recently added the ultimate high-end luxury German car to his collection. Enter Mercedes-Maybach S600. A limo that doesn’t need a 30-foot long frame to be called that. It’s worth a paltry $200,000 and sports a 6.0L twin-turbocharged V12 under its hood. A mill capable of making 523 hp and 612 lb-ft of torque. Enough for it to go from zero to 60 in 5 seconds flat.
Cadillac Presidential Limo “The Beast”
The nickname is pretty much everything you need to know here. I won’t dabble much with technicalities, but let’s just say this baby’s beyond bulletproof. Yet, it’s not as much of a Cadillac as you might think it is. The Beast takes its diesel engine, transmission and chassis from Chevrolet Kodiak. It weighs about as much as one, too. Come to think of it, 20,000 pounds is actually more than base Chevy Kodiak weighs. $1.5 million limo is, however, retiring soon. President Trump will receive all-new presidential limo built especially for him. I wonder if it’ll feature any 24-karat gold gimmicks.
1993 Cadillac Allante
Last but not least, this Cadillac was the last model made for the Allante line. It featured a 4.6 liter Northstar engine producing only 295 horsepower. But it was more about style than speed. The ‘93 Allante was even chosen to be the pace car for the 76th Indy 500 race. Even with the technological advancements built into the Allante, it doesn’t match the elegance and class of the rest of Donald Trump’s cars. But, these were designed and manufactured in Italy and the styling reflects the Pininfarina influences. That may have been a reason for this car making the ‘Trump Collection’.
Cars he sold
1997 Lamborghini Diablo VT – Donald Trump once owned one of the best supercars ever produced. But not anymore! He sold his LeMans blue Lambo roadster a long time ago. It recently resurfaced during Mr. Trump’s presidential campaign when the then-current owner tried to use the spotlight to sell it for $299,000.
2007 Ferrari F430 – Yet another superb supercar specimen and Italian car that Donald Trump sold in favor of buying German. A proof that he has indeed grown old. That was back in 2011, mind you, so he has officially been old for more than 5 years now.
Not exactly cars, but impressive nevertheless
Boeing 757 – Mr. Trump bought this commercial airliner to serve as his private jet in 2011 from Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen. He then proceeded to pimp it with Trump’s latest fashion. At the time that included leather seats for up to 43 passengers, 24-karat gold seat-belt buckles, TV screens, two bedrooms, and plenty of gold-trimmed details. What’s with the gold obsession anyway?
Cessna Citation X – It’s much smaller, but another private jet for his collection. Still large enough to support 12 passengers and all the gold details.
Sikorsky S-76 Helicopter – Yep, Mr. President owns one of these too. It’s not a bad ass military chopper, though, but a simple $7 million civilian utility chopper. I mean, as simple as helicopters go, that is.
