Acura is working hard to make its vehicles stand out from the crowd. Its classic “precision crafted performance” motto is being used to promote the 2022 Acura MDX. The latest promo video links Acura‘s sports car and racing heritage to the new SUV.
If nothing else, the new 2022 Acura MDX “Origin Story” video is a fun watch just to enjoy some quality archival footage of the Integra and NSX in action.

While we’re sure the 2022 Acura MDX will be a sharper better handling SUV than many of its competitors, we’re not so sure it really has much to do with the Integra, NSX, or race cars that have come before it. Sure there is trickle-down engineering and company passion from race programs, but 3-row SUVs don’t exactly conjure up dreams of hitting apexes on the track for me.
2022 Acura MDX Gets Race Car Engine Parts
The direct link between its race cars and the 2022 MDX SUV that Acura makes in the video is that “there are over 400 shared engine components between our MDX and the championship-winning ARX car.” Modern engines have a lot of parts, so this claim is likely to be true.
