Rent An All Electric Taycan Directly From Porsche

Porsche Drive Subscription Now Includes the Taycan 4S

Porsche’s first pure electric car has just been included in the Porsche Drive Subscription and Rental program. This means that you can now rent a Porsche Taycan for a day, week, or month, versus having to sign a two-year or lease on the vehicle.

On top of the addition of the Taycan, the Porsche Drive program is also expanding its territory. The program is currently available in Atlanta, Phoenix, San Diego, and Los Angeles. It is now expanding to include more of California -Irvine, Monterey, San Francisco, and San Jose- as well as the addition of Houston, TX.

“Think of Porsche Drive as sports car-as-a-service, a convenient digital way to access the Porsche experience,” said Kjell Gruner, President and CEO of Porsche Cars North America, Inc. “In three years of testing and growing the concept, together with our dealers, we have created a solution for people who prefer shorter-term and more flexible access. We always want to welcome new friends to our brand, and the fact that 80 percent of Drive customers are new to Porsche is a mark of the program’s success.”

Porsche Drive Program

The Drive subscription program started as a pilot by Porsche in Atlanta back in 2017. Since then, it has grown to be a joint venture with Porsche dealerships, which provide the service in their territories. The Porsche Drive subscription program features three main offerings: a multi-vehicle subscription per month, a single-vehicle subscription for 1-3 months, and vehicle rentals for shorter periods.

All of the services are managed through the Porsche Drive App. You can choose a vehicle in the app, schedule your “rental,” and even schedule concierge service for pick-up and drop-off.

The Taycan 4S will be offered as a single-vehicle subscription initially, not part of the multi-vehicle program. The monthly fee for the Porsche Taycan 4s is $3,250, about 20% above what the monthly cost of a 2-year lease would be on the car. If you want to rent it for less time, it costs $335 per day for 1-3 days or $295 a day for 4+ days.

The rear-wheel-drive Taycan will also be available later this spring. It will be offered as a single or multi-vehicle subscription. The single-vehicle Taycan rear-wheel-drive monthly subscription will cost $2,500.

Porsche Drive Signup & Fees

To be a part of the Porsche Drive subscription program, you must download the app, have a home address within a program service area, and apply for membership. Membership is dependent on a background check and requires a $595 activation fee. If you sign up for a 3-month or longer subscription, then the activation fee is waived.

The Porsche Drive program currently has 6-Porsche vehicles; 718, 911, Panamera, Macan, Cayenne, and now Taycan. Besides getting to drive some truly world-class vehicles, the program is compelling because the flat monthly fee includes all operating costs (maintenance, fuel/charging, insurance, etc…).

(All pricing excludes taxes and fees.)
