Big Interior Upgrades Along With Tech And Styling Updates Create A Compelling New Discovery

2021 Land Rover Discovery R Dynamic

At first glance little has changed with the latest Land Rover Discovery. It is still the luxury 7-passenger family adventure SUV that we know. It still has the unique powered rear drop-down tailgate, massive load flat floor, and the off-road capable Terrain Response 2 system. The 2021 Land Rover Discovery does have some tricks up its sleeve however, with a few styling updates, some big interior upgrades, and even more off-road capability.

“New Discovery is a beautifully proportioned and sophisticated premium SUV. This compelling and versatile vehicle has been refined in every detail, enhancing its characterful exterior and hugely versatile interior to ensure the Discovery maintains its position as the most capable and family-friendly full-size SUV in the world.” -Gerry McGovern, Chief Creative Officer, Jaguar Land Rover

2021 Discovery Gets Exterior Styling Tweaks

Little has changed on the exterior of the new Discovery, but it does get new lights and bumpers. It gets new LED headlights, with inset daylight running lights, and rear wrap-around LED taillamps. New bumpers with more aggressive vents up front and signature Discovery lettering in the rear help sharpen up the look.

2021 Land Rover Discovery R Dynamic

New for 2021 is the R-Dynamic models. These models bring even more street cred and a refined sporty look to the Discovery. Outside the R-Dynamic models get Glass Black and Shadow Atlas accents, while inside it gets two-tone leather and contrast stitching on seats.

Lots Of Interior Updates

The real updates for 2021 are found inside. Right away you’ll notice the new center console that features a massive 11.4-inch infotainment touchscreen and a new gear selector. The Pivi Pro infotainment system offers a 48-percent larger screen, over-the-air-updates, and a new more intuitive menu system.

The driver also gets to hold onto a new 4-spoke steering wheel with cleaner controls and metal paddle shifters. Keyless entry and vehicle configuration with the Land Rover app also helps this modern SUV run with the best of them.

Land Rover Click and Go tablet holders

Passengers, especially the second row, also get a number of upgrades. The second-row seating has been much improved with new ergonomic seat shapes and material choices for ultimate passenger comfort. New Land Rover Click and Go tablet holders incorporated into the front seatbacks also make it even easier for passengers to kick back and relax. Combine those new holders with seatback USB-A charging sockets and onboard 4G Wi-Fi and you’ve got lots of entertainment options for passengers of all ages.

2021 Land Rover Discovery Off-Road

The Discovery is a Land Rover, so of course it is off-road capable. It comes with the latest Terrain Response 2 system, which offers all kinds of computerized off-road capability wizardry. The system is now accessed through the Pivi Pro infotainment system.

Land Rover Discovery water fording

All-new is Wade Mode, which optimizes the 2021 Land Rover Discovery for water fording.

Land Rover ClearSight Ground View

Possibly the ultimate in cool tech that is great off-road and on is the ClearSight Ground View technology. The tech is a camera system that allows the driver to basically see through the hood and the ground beneath the vehicle. This system debuted on the 2020 Defender, and I can assure you from experience is very useful and impressive.

SUV Towing Prowess
